TC Consult was appointed by a private client to help them deliver their dream home. A plot with an existing dwelling was purchased by the client and the scope of the project was to demolish the existing structure and construct a new build bespoke dwelling for the family.
Downs Merrifield Architects had developed the design with the clients from an early stage, so it was imperative that the architect remained closely involved and client side to ensure a high quality end product. We therefore used a traditional JCT without quantities form of contact with TC Consult administering the contract and providing cost control quantity surveying services while Bingham Hall provided engineering services and construction by Scimitar Homes.
We all know building is an imperfect art and this project presented lots of below ground hidden obstructions to deal with and a few tricky contractual matters, but nothing that TC couldn’t handle – we thrive with a challenge!
