TC was appointed Employer’s Agent by Waterstone Estates Ltd. on this project, which involved the conversion of the former Golden Harvest pub in Greenmeadow into a new Tesco Express branch.
The new store was expected to provide between 20 and 30 jobs and provide encouragement for more people to shop locally.
A complicated changeover
As the existing building was a former public house, the conversion required difficult strip-out works, site decontamination and complex structural alterations. Significant site levelling was also needed for the car parking arrangement to meet the strict planning and building regulations and Section 278 highways improvement works required by Torfaen County Borough Council and Tesco Express’ own requirements.
Constructive coordination
TC coordinated the project from start to finish, managing all tenant liaison and negotiations on behalf of Waterstone Estates Ltd. and ensuring a seamless transition from shell construction to fit out by Tesco.
