In a bittersweet moment, TC Consult bids a fond farewell to our friend and colleague, David Thomas, who retired on 31st March.
With that in mind, we thought it fitting to look back over David’s illustrious career, and celebrate his achievements both before, and during his time at TC Consult.
Graduating in quantity surveying from the Polytechnic of Wales in 1979, David joined Banks Wood and Partners in Cardiff, where he qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1981. Having built a strong reputation at Banks Wood and Partners, David remained at the firm until TC Consult took over in 2014, when he became a valuable member of our team.
Throughout his many years of experience, there hasn’t been a building type or construction matter that David hasn’t come across. During his time with TC Consult, he has become affectionately known as our ‘office oracle’, and source of all knowledge. He also has a very dry / abstract sense of humour which was appreciated in the office when it didn’t go over peoples heads!
It is certain that he will be sorely missed by the entire team here.
David will be looking forward to not using another spreadsheet, spending more time pursuing his passions – including winemaking, homebrewing and cricket. And no doubt he’ll be spending even more time at Sophia Gardens, the home of his beloved Glamorgan County Cricket Club.
So, from all the team here at TC Consult, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank David for his many years of wisdom, hard work and dedication, and wish him a very long and happy retirement.
